Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have arrested one person from Andhra Pradesh on charges of impersonating as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and sending emails and messages to businessmen and industrialists seeking financial assistance.

The suspect, B Nagaraju (32), a former State-level cricket player of Andhra Pradesh, is a native of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh.

Cybercrime officials said Nagaraju created a fake email ID in the name of the Chief Minister’s OSD and sent fraudulent emails to business persons, entrepreneurs and industrialists soliciting financial assistance.

He is involved in 13 similar cases in Telangana and 16 cases in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, a non-bailable warrant is pending against him.

Based on a complaint from the CM’s OSD, the cybercrime police booked a case and nabbed Nagaraju.
