Siddipet: Former Minister Koppula Eswar hit out at Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar for criticising former Minister T Harish Rao during his visit to Siddipet on Saturday. Laxman, who offered prayers at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, had addressed the media accusing Harish Rao of making false statements on the Congress government’s failures and cabinet differences.

Reacting sharply, Eswar told reporters in Siddipet that everything Harish Rao said about the Congress government’s functioning and internal rifts was accurate. He challenged Laxman to an open debate at Dr BR Ambedkar’s statue in Hyderabad on October 27.

Eswar alleged that a Congress Minister had earlier accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of introducing a “gun culture” in Telangana. He also claimed a senior IAS officer sought voluntary retirement being unable to cope with pressure from Ministers. The senior BRS leader alleged that Congress Ministers were engaged in infighting for their share in commissions.

Eswar produced newspaper clippings carrying Harish Rao’s remarks to support his claims. Former BRS MLA Rasamayi Balakishan, Pala Sairam and others were present.
