Adilabad: Former minister Jogu Ramanna accused the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of hurting the sentiments of Telangana people by insulting Telangana Thalli to curry favour with his party high command by installing former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s statue in Hyderabad. He participated in a programme to protest against the installation of the statue of Rajiv Gandhi, here on Tuesday.
Ramanna said the society would not forgive the fact that the statue of Rajiv Gandhi was installed in a place reserved for the Telangana Thalli. He said Telangana people would teach a lesson to Revanth Reddy and the Congress for hurting their sentiments.
The BRS district president wondered as to why the statue of Rajiv Gandhi was not installed when the Congress ruled the State for 10 years in the past. Putting up the statue now is nothing short of hurting the self-esteem of the people of this state. Revanth Reddy would bear the brunt of his act soon.
BRS leaders Vijjagiri Narayana, Alala Ajay, Gandrath Ramesh, Mettu Prahlad, Komura Raju, Younis Akbani, Swarupa Rani, Karuna, Gangaiah and many others were present.
