Former MLA Shakil Aamir detained at Hyderabad airport upon arrival from Dubai, allowed to attend mother’s funeral

The police had issued a Look Out Circular (LoC) against Shakil Aamir after he allegedly fled to Dubai following the registration of a case against him.

Hyderabad: Former MLA Shakil Aamir Mohammed, was taken into custody at the RGI Airport on Thursday when he arrived from Dubai to attend the funeral of his mother who passed away last night. However, he was allowed to attend the funeral of his mother and he left for Bodhan.

A Look out Circular (LoC) was issued against Shakil Aamir, by the police after he allegedly escaped to Dubai following a case registered against him.

Raheel Aamir alias Sahil, son of the MLA had rammed his car into a police barricade in front of Praja Bhavan in December 2023. The MLA had helped his son escape in the case and when it came to light, the police cited him as an accused in the case. He later left for Dubai and stayed there.

Shakil Aamir arrived on Thursday and as a LoC was pending against him the immigration authorities at the airport alerted the police. The police took him into custody and later allowed him to go to attend the funeral of his mother.
