Former MP accuses Telugu Desam MP of land grab in Hyderabad, urges Revanth Reddy to protect government land
Former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene against TDP MP Kesineni Sivanath, alleging an attempt to encroach upon 112.72 acres of government land at Shamshiguda and seeking legal and administrative action.
Hyderabad: In a complaint that could put the Congress government under scrutiny, former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has accused Vijayawada TDP MP Kesineni Sivanath of attempting to grab 112.72 acres of government land at Shamshiguda on Hyderabad outskirts and appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to intervene and initiate action accordingly.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Nani alleged that the TDP MP was abusing his constitutional position and political influence to capture 112.72 acres in Survey No. 57 at Shamshiguda near Pragathi Nagar.
Citing a counter-affidavit filed by the Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector in the Supreme Court, Nani claimed that the entire 274 acres in Survey No. 57 had been identified as government land. Despite this, he alleged that Kesineni Sivanath and his son, Kesineni Venkat Chowdary, Managing Partner of Exella Properties, conspired to illegally secure rights over a portion of the land.

Nani further alleged that material facts had been concealed from the Supreme Court and claimed that funds linked to the PMC Bank scam had been diverted into the property, referring to an Enforcement Directorate caution notice issued on October 4, 2023.
He also alleged that an order of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), which bars transactions involving HDIL’s 55 per cent development rights, had been bypassed through a private settlement.
The former MP further alleged that Kesineni Developers and Exella Properties, which he claimed were operating without TS-RERA registration, had marketed plots to hundreds of middle-class families despite the ongoing dispute.
Seeking immediate intervention, Nani urged the Chief Minister to direct the Advocate General to place the Collector’s affidavit and TGIIC land allocation records before the Supreme Court and seek dismissal of the private applications filed in the matter.
He also demanded that HYDRAA take possession of the disputed 112.72 acres, remove alleged encroachments, demolish unauthorized structures and direct the police to register criminal cases against those responsible.
Questions over HYDRAA
The complaint has also triggered questions over HYDRAA’s functioning. As the agency is entrusted with protecting government lands, political observers are questioning how an alleged attempt to occupy more than 112 acres in the prime Pragathi Nagar area could have escaped its attention, if the allegations are substantiated.
The issue could also pose a political challenge for the Chief Minister, who had earlier been associated with the TDP before joining the Congress. With the allegations directed against a sitting TDP MP, political circles are watching to see how the State government responds.
