Former national footballer Nithyasheelan passed away in Hyderabad at the age of 57. The Telangana Football Association and players observed two minutes of silence during training and league matches to honour his contribution to the sport

Former national footballer Nithyasheelan passes away at 57

Hyderabad: Former national footballer Nithyasheelan passed away here on Thursday. He was 57 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

He represented the state in the 1988 sub-junior nationals in Dhanbad.


The Telangana Football Association expressed condolences, and at the Gymkhana Football Ground Under-20 camp, two minutes of silence was observed as a mark of respect. During Thursday’s C Division Football League matches as well, two minutes of silence was observed in honour of his contribution to the sport.
