Former Sarpanch attempts to die by suicide in Nirmal
The former Sarpanch has taken up development works such as roads and a drainage system worth Rs 25 lakh in Pembi mandal headquarters by reportedly borrowing funds from friends and relatives in 2023
Nirmal: Arugula Purnachandar Goud, a former Sarpanch attempted to die by alleged suicide as he was depressed over the delay in getting bills of developmental works cleared at Pembi mandal centre on Wednesday.
According to family members, Goud tried to commit suicide by consuming some pesticide. He had the pesticide while returning from Hyderabad to Pembi. He was admitted to a hospital in Nirmal town. Doctors said that his medical condition could be assessed only after 24 hours.
Goud has taken up development works such as roads and a drainage system worth Rs 25 lakh in Pembi mandal headquarters by reportedly borrowing funds from friends and relatives in 2023.
He submitted bills to the officials concerned. He has been moving from pillar to post to get payment of the bills. He was upset over an inordinate delay in sanctioning funds for the works.
