Gift a smile: Former Sarpanch extends insurance coverage to 50 families in Adilabad

Former Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi sponsored Rs 2 lakh life insurance coverage for 50 poor families at Mukhra (K) village in Adilabad district under the Gift a Smile campaign to mark BRS working president KT Rama Rao's birthday on July 24

Adilabad: Former Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi sponsored life insurance coverage worth Rs 2 lakh each for 50 poor families as part of the Gift a Smile campaign on the occasion of BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s birthday. She handed over the insurance documents to the beneficiaries at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Friday.

Meenakshi said she extended the coverage to the poor in honour of her favourite leader’s birthday, which falls on July 24. She stated that she paid a premium of Rs 436 per beneficiary. In the event of natural or accidental death, the dependents will receive Rs 2 lakh. The objective of the initiative is to support financially weak families on the birthday of the leader, she explained.

She said that if an unexpected incident happened to the head of a family, the entire family would face financial hardship. This gesture would provide relief to the affected family. She noted that they would organise a slew of programmes to help the poor till July 24 to mark Rao’s birthday and wished the BRS working president good health.

Former MPTC member Gadge Subhash, Vittal, Thirupathi, Datta, Venkati and farmers were present.
