Hyderabad: After repeatedly appealing to the State government to clear their pending bills, members of the Telangana Sarpanches Sangham submitted a representation to the Khairatabad Ganesh on Thursday as a symbolic protest.
For the past two years, former sarpanches have been urging the government to release their dues. They said they had undertaken several development works in villages using their own money but are now facing severe financial hardship due to delays in payments.
“The State cabinet meeting is scheduled for Friday. The government should take a decision on releasing payments to former sarpanches,” Telangana Sarpanches Sangham president S Yadaiah Goud demanded.
