Amaravati: The opposition Telugu Desam Party received another rude shock on Tuesday when the party’s former MLA from Guntur Ziauddin joined the ruling YSR Congress Party in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Ziauddin won from Guntur-1 Assembly constituency twice in the past and also served as the chairman of Minorities Commission in the previous TDP government.

The former MLA said he had quit the TDP and joined YSRCP as the latter was providing a better deal to the minorities in the state.
