Four arrested for hunting wild animals in Adilabad
Police arrested four persons from Adilabad town for allegedly hunting wild animals near Chinna Mannur village. Knives, snares, motorcycles and a mobile phone were seized. The accused reportedly hunted deer and wild boar to consume and sell the meat illegally.

Adilabad: Four persons from Adilabad town were arrested for hunting wild animals in the forest near Chinna Mannur village on Friday. Police seized three knives, an iron snare, two motorcycles and a mobile phone from them.
Echoda Rural Inspector Ch Ramesh said that Allakunta Lakan, Allakunta Thalaiah, Allakunta Thirupathi and Allakunta Nagaiah, all from Pittalawada, were apprehended for killing wild animals such as deer and wild boar by setting snares near water bodies. The four were detained while moving suspiciously during a vehicle check.
During interrogation, the four confessed to committing the crime to consume the meat of wild animals and make quick money by selling it to food lovers. They admitted to hunting by laying snares near streams and tanks where the animals usually gather during summer.
