Four arrested in forest beat officer’s death by electrocution in Kothagudem
A forest beat officer in Kothagudem district was electrocuted while attempting to stop poachers who had set up illegal electric traps to hunt wild animals. Police have arrested four accused in connection with the incident, and they will be produced before court for judicial remand.

Kothagudem: Police arrested four persons involved in the death of forest beat officer Banoth Naveen, who was electrocuted after coming into contact with live electric traps illegally set up to poach wild animals.
It may be recalled that on the night of August 11 Naveen and other staff went to Nakirepet forest area in the district after receiving information that some individuals had set up electric snares to hunt wild animals. While searching for the suspects at the site, he was electrocuted.
A case was registered at Burgampad police station based on a complaint filed by DRO Anarkali, and an investigation was initiated. Police arrested the accused Avula Nagi Reddy Dasari Naresh, and Thati Veerababu at Nagi Reddy’s house at Lakshmipuram village, where they were hiding.
Based on information provided by the trio, the fourth accused, Kannedari Ananthaiah, was arrested at his residence at Nagineniprolu Reddipalem. The four arrested accused would be produced before the court for judicial remand, said an official release on Saturday.
