Hyderabad: The Raidurgam police registered a case against four youngsters for dangerous driving in Knowledge City, an area of Cyberabad, on Saturday night.

According to the police, around 12.30 am, the blue-coloured police spotted youngsters recklessly driving a vehicle on Niloufer Road, and rushed to the spot.

“When the police tried to stop a Sedan vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner, making heavy sounds, the driver tried to escape by accelerating the car. During the attempt to intercept, a police constable sustained injuries to their hand. Immediately, other policemen rushed and stopped the car by using force,” said Ch Venkanna.

The driver, Mohammed Rehwan (19), a degree student and three other occupants of the car, Owasis, Ayan, and Waseem, were later taken into custody.

A case was registered under Sections 125 and 121(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Sections 184, 182(A)(4), and 181 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
