Hyderabad: The timely response of four citizens thwarted the sexual assault attempt on a nine-year-old child in Jubilee Hills.

The incident occurred on April 14 on Jubilee Hills Road No. 10, when Sejal and Ganapathi noticed a man behaving inappropriately with the minor.

Acting swiftly, they, along with Kashinath and Srinivas, intervened, rescued the girl and alerted the police by dialling 100, leading to the suspect’s capture.

Police identified him as Javed, a resident of Yousufguda. He allegedly lured the girl with an offer of ice cream and took her on his bike before harassing her.

A case has been booked and he was remanded to judicial custody.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Friday honoured and felicitated them for bravely rescuing the girl from sexual harassment and helping the police nab the suspect.
