Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Four persons from neighbouring Maharashtra were arrested for stealing Rs 50,000 from a passenger of a TSRTC bus in Kaghaznagar on Thursday. The cash was recovered from them.
Kaghaznagar Inspector D Mohan said that the accused were Abdul Atheek, Shaik Hussain, Shaik Ayub and Javeed Khan, all natives of Maharashtra. They were detained while moving suspiciously in Kaghaznagar railway station. The complainant was Edunuri Vilas, a resident of Balaji Anukoda village in Chintalamanepalli mandal.
During the subsequent interrogation, the four confessed to the crime, stating that they were used to a lavish lifestyle. They said they picked Vilas’ pocket while he was alighting the bus to reach his village from Kaghaznagar on Wednesday at around 11.30 am. They disclosed that they were about to leave for Maharashtra by train.
Based on a complaint lodged by Vilas, Kaghaznagar police registered a case and two special teams were formed to nab the culprits. They alerted policemen of neighboring Sirpur (T), Rebbena and Asifabad. They scanned CCTV footage installed in different parts of the town and apprehended the thieves.
