Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Four persons were arrested for allegedly betting on cricket matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in Kaghaznagar on Wednesday evening. Three mobile phones and liquid cash Rs 14,000 were recovered from them.
Task Force Inspector Rana Prathap said that the accused were Ahmed Baig, Shaik Shaid Hussain, Vemula Srinivas and Sridhar, all belonging to Kaghaznagar town.
The four were detained when they were indulging in betting on the different cricket matches of (IPL) , when the sleuths of a Task Force team conducted raids on a house following a tip.
The four confessed to committing the crime to make quick bucks by forming a gang for quite a long time. They admitted that they were targeting youngsters and luring them by promising high profits.
They were handed over to Kaghaznagar police for taking action against them. A case was registered and investigations were taken up.
