Four including three women held for stealing jewellery
According to the police, the gang targeted crowded jewelry shops in Uppal and Jawaharnagar areas and posing as customers, diverted the attention of the shopkeeper or salesperson and stole ornaments
Hyderabad: The Nacharam police nabbed a four-member gang including three women on charges of stealing jewellery from shops by diverting the attention of shopkeepers here on Friday. Police recovered three tolas of gold and an auto-rickshaw used by them.
The arrested persons were Noorjahan Begum (38) from Borabanda, Asiya Begum (35) from Yousufguda, Anees Fathima (30) from Borabanda and Mohd Sohail (28), an auto-rickshaw driver from Balanagar.
According to the police, the gang targeted crowded jewelry shops in Uppal and Jawaharnagar areas and posing as customers, diverted the attention of the shopkeeper or salesperson and stole ornaments.
Following a complaint from a shop owner, a case was booked and with the help of CCTV footage, they were identified and arrested.
