Karimanagar: Four persons died and another person received serious injuries in a road accident that took place near Manakondur mandal headquarters in the small hours of Friday. The incident occurred when a speeding car, in which the victims were travelling towards Karimnagar from Khammam, hit a roadside tree near Manakondur police station.
Koppula Balaji Sridhar, Koppula Srinivas Rao, Sridhar and car driver Hinduri Jalander died on the spot while Penchala Srinivas Rao suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Karimnagar. Srinivas was working as an executive engineer in Panchayat Raj Department in Rajanna-Sircilla district, Balaji Sridhar was practicing as an advocate at Peddapalli court. The victims, residents of Jyothinagar of Karimnagar town, were returning to Karimnagar after attending a function at Kalluru of Khamma district.
Knowing about the incident, police inspected the spot and sent the bodies were shifted to Karimnagar hospital for postmortem. A case was registered.
