Hyderabad: The Nizamabad district police on Thursday arrested four persons including a businessman on charges of committing thefts in locked houses.

The arrested have been identified as K Shiva Prasad Raju (21), S Akshay Kumar (22), K Anand Krishna Hari (45) and K Prem Bhaskar (25), all natives of Maharashtra. Hari was a businessman while Bhaskar used to work in a tent house and Kumar was into tailoring work. Raju was working as a labourer.

Addressing a press conference, Nizamabad Police Commissioner KR Nagaraju said a gold necklace, three gold chains, ear studs, two rings and silver ornaments along with two mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.

The quartet was detained while moving under suspicious circumstances in Maruthinagar. After being grilled, the four persons admitted that they committed thefts in two houses. The gang members came to the district on January 16 and committed theft in a locked house at Neelakanta Nagar.

Raju Kumar and Bhaskar kept the stolen valuables with Hari and went to Yadadri. After returning to the district on January 23, the trio along with Hari stole valuables in a flat at Gangasthan-II. They also attempted to enter another flat by breaking open the lock but ran away when other flat owners raised an alarm on seeing them.

The gang members were moving under suspicious circumstances on January 24 to commit an offence at Maruthinagar when the police detained them.
