Four passengers, driver injured as ash tanker rams RTC bus in Khammam

An ash tanker rammed into a stationary RTC bus in Khammam’s Karepalli mandal, injuring four passengers and the driver. The injured were hospitalised and the tanker driver was taken into custody

Khammam: Four passengers and an RTC driver sustained serious injuries when a speeding ash tanker collided with an RTC bus at Kamepalli stage in Karepalli mandal on Monday.

The accident occurred while the bus, en route from Khammam to Yellendu, had stopped at Kamepalli stage to drop off passengers. The ash tanker, reportedly out of control, rammed into the bus from behind.


RTC driver Anji and passengers Ramadevi, Srividya, Bhukya Shourya, and Seetha were seriously injured in the collision.

Local police rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for treatment. According to conductor B Upender, the bus was carrying 47 passengers at the time of the incident.

The tanker driver was taken into custody and brought to the police station for further inquiry, officials said.
