Rajanna Sircilla: Sircilla police cracked a four year-old girl’s kidnap case and arrested three women involved in the incident.
Producing the accused before the media in Sircilla on Friday, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan disclosed details about the kidnap episode.
Residents of Chinthalapalli, Kodimial mandal of Jagtial district, the couple Singarapu Madhu and Lasya had two daughters. Lasya, who was mentally unstable, was staying separately from her husband.
She along with one of her daughters Aditya visited Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, to have darshan of the presiding deity recently.
The accused Sriramoji Venkata Narsamma, Ganjirapu Anjavva and Kunapuri Uppamma from Mahabubabad also visited the shrine and they got friendly with Lasya. Both Lasya and the three women stayed in the temple premises for five days.
Taking advantage of Lasya’s mental condition, the women took Aditya along with them on December 23. After one week, the child’s uncle Palamaru Gangaswamy lodged a complaint with Vemulawasa town police.
The police, who did not get any information from Lasya because of her mental condition, formed seven special teams to trace the girl.
They managed to find the details of the accused by watching CCTV footage in Vemulawada temple as well as bus stands and railway stations in Karimnagar, Warangal, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Khammam and Kodad.
The girl was finally traced and rescued. She
was handed over to CWC officials at the SP office on Friday.
