Siddipet: Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis on Sunday said the department would soon start a free coaching centre for police job aspirants in Husnabad town in Siddipet district.
Pointing out that they had given training to about 407 youths from the district ahead of the previous recruitment test, the Commissioner said that over 100 of them had passed the police recruitment examination and joined in the department.
Meanwhile, MLA Vodithela Sathish Kumar announced that they would soon also offer free coaching for youth seeking to take the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) recruitment examination in Husnabad town. Saying that the sole aim of offering the free coaching is to encourage the youth to get into the government service, Sathish Kumar said that many poor people cannot afford the fee being charged by the private coaching institutes.
Running competitions
Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis and MLA Husnabad Vodiethala Sathish Kumar participated in a half marathon conducted by Siddipet police to create awareness among the people on road safety as part of 32nd National Road Safety Weeks in Husnabad on Sunday. The marathon drew a good response as people from all walks of life from across the State have participated. They have also conducted 10K Run and 5K Run. The first three winners in these three categories were presented the cash prize and gold medals. Podaralla Abhishek, a native of Jammikunta, won the first prize. He was presented with a Rs 25,000 cash prize.
Salikanti Akhil, a native of Miryalaguda has won the 10K run. He was presented Rs 10,000 cash prize while Bonala Vinod, a native of Akkannapet was presented a Rs 5,000 cash prize as he won the 5K Run contest.
Vadlakonda Chaitanya, a native of Siddipet, has won the women 5K Run competition while Banoth Soni, a native of Koheda and P Hemalatha, a native of Koheda came second and third respectively. They were presented Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 cash prizes respectively.
The Commissioner said that they would conduct such competitions in the coming days to inculcate health consciousness among the younger generation. He appreciated the Husnabad, Akkannapet, Koheda and other area police personnel for encouraging the youth to participate in the competition by conducting village-level competitions for over a period of one month. Above 1,050 people have participated in the competition.
