Sangareddy: The Sangareddy District administration has kickstarted a novel initiative with an aim to deliver free and hygienic food packets to all the Covid-19 patients who are in home isolation within Sangareddy Municipality limits commencing from Monday.
District Collector M Hanumantha Rao urged people to enrol their names by providing all the details by calling the mobile number 72074 88745 between 2 PM and 5 PM everyday.
The Collector, who spoke to several Covid-19 infected patients over the phone on Saturday to inquire about their issues, came to know that they were struggling to cook food since their entire families were tested positive and were in isolation for treatment.
Rao has appointed two Superintendent cadre officials to oversee the distribution of food packets through the Food Help Centre. The Collector suggested them to prepare 500 grams weighing nutritious khichdi packets to distribute the same to Coronavrius infected across the town. He said they have allotted four electric vehicles to transport the food packets across the town.
