Locals noticed the grave in a secluded spot amidst trees, behind the engineering college hostel and informed the university authorities, who in-turn alerted the Osmania University police.

The university authorities, with the help of police, dug up the grave and recovered the body of a pet dog buried beneath.

Officials suspect the owner of the dog buried its body after it died a few days ago.
