Hyderabad: The world’s largest multi-stage lift irrigation project, Kaleshwaram, had faced relentless scrutiny from the Congress. Though built in record time, Kaleshwaram, which proved to be a lifeline for Telangana, was always a target for the Congress, with its leaders, right from Rahul Gandhi to A Revanth Reddy to N Uttam Kumar Reddy, slamming the project at every given opportunity.
They said it had collapsed, that it was a mammoth waste of money, that it could never be repaired, and yet, just before the local body polls, the Congress government has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) to repair the Medigadda Barrage.
