Hyderabad: For many parents, attending a wedding or family celebration is anything but relaxing. Between feeding toddlers, calming restless children and keeping an eye on them amid large crowds, celebrations often become a juggling act. While everyone else enjoys the festivities, many parents, particularly mothers, spend most of the event making sure their little ones are safe.

A Hyderabad-based startup is looking to change that. Giggle & Guard is a professional event childcare service that provides trained caregivers to look after children at weddings, birthdays, family gatherings and corporate events.

“As a mother of a toddler, I knew how difficult it was to truly enjoy a wedding or family celebration because my attention was always on my child,” said Sravya Vagolu, founder of Giggle & Guard. “When I realised so many parents, especially mothers, shared the same experience, I decided to start this service.”

Unlike conventional babysitting services that are usually home-based, Giggle & Guard is designed specifically for busy event venues. Caregivers work in environments filled with crowds, music and constant movement, keeping children engaged through games, storytelling, creative activities and age-appropriate play instead of simply supervising them.

“We carefully select young, energetic caregivers who connect well with children, engage them through play and activities, and match their energy throughout the event,” Sravya said.

The service caters to children from infants to around 12 years of age. The caregiver-to-child ratio varies according to the children’s age groups, ensuring every child receives the attention and supervision they need.

“Our caregivers build trust gradually through conversation, toys, games and familiar activities. If a child wants their parent, we reconnect them immediately. We never force a child to stay away from their parents because their emotional comfort always comes first,” she added.

Building trust has been central to the company’s approach. Every caregiver undergoes identity verification, background checks and personal interviews before joining the team. Candidates are assessed for qualities such as patience, communication skills, professionalism and their ability to interact naturally with children.

“Trust is the foundation of our service. Parents should feel comfortable knowing their children are in safe hands. Since we operate within the event venue, they can check on their children whenever they wish,” Sravya said.

Although based in Hyderabad, Giggle & Guard has already extended its services to several other cities and is witnessing growing demand as more families seek flexible childcare solutions. Parents can book the service through Instagram, WhatsApp or phone, with pricing customised based on the event duration, location, number of children and the number of caregivers required.
