Rajanna-Sircilla: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao informed that there was abnormal spurt in flow of funds to rural areas after formation of separate Telangana state.

Earlier, it was a tough task to release Rs 50 lakh to a village. However, the situation has changed after the formation of Telangana state. More than Rs 5 crore is being spent on each village to take up various developmental works, Rama Rao said while inaugurating 40 double bedroom houses in Venkatapur of Yellareddypet mandal on Saturday.

Except Telangana, no state in the country has taken up the construction of double bedroom houses. It was the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who was providing double bedroom houses to homeless poor in the state, the Minister said and promised to construct double bedroom houses to the people who have their own house sites.

Commenting on opposition leaders’ criticism, the Minister questioned as to whether there was any other state in the country which was implementing such schemes like Telangana. The opposition parties, which were criticizing the state government, should tell the public what the opposition parties did for the welfare of the public during their regime, the Minister questioned.

Earlier, people used to be scared to visit government hospitals for treatment. However, the condition of hospitals has now changed. Besides high quality treatment, KCR kits have also been provided to lactating women in government hospitals. Moreover, it was the Telangana government which was fulfilling the needs of all sections of the society even before the people sought assistance from the government.

Building of all associations would be completed very soon. While some of the buildings were already completed, some others were under construction. KCR bhavans being constructed by spending Rs 20 lakh in all villages were almost all completed, Rama Rao informed.
