G 9, Keystone score facile wins Basketball Championship

Hyderabad: G 9 and Keystone Basketball Academy eked out their second consecutive wins in the Annual League Basketball Championship of The Hyderabad District Basketball Association with facile wins over Hyderabad YMCA and CCOB respectively. While G 9 won 68-51 after leading 35-15 at the halftime, a young Keystone BB Academy side toyed with their experienced CCOB for a 69-29 win.
Southpaw Dinesh Kumar once again stole the limelight for G 9 with his body feints and deceptive movements which created spaces in the restricted area while Gona Pratheek and Gowtham scoring from the centre and forward positions respectively dominated the first three quarters before a late surge in attack from Sumith and Gaurav saw Hyderabad YMCA outscore G 9 19-12 in the final quarter, which however proved of little consequence in the final outcome as they end with a 17 point deficit at regulation time.
Aayush Arumalla started off with a fast break from the tip off and followed it up with three more baskets in quick succession as the youthful Keystone side had the CCOB players in knots both in offence and defence. While Subhash and Rohan controlled both the boards, their quick passing and fast attack took Keystone to a 24-6 lead at the first quarter. The second quarter saw the CCOB players struggling as they failed to score a single point while Keystone increased the lead to 40-6 at halftime, scoring 16 points with Jayadev coming up with a three pointer and Kaja Ganesh scoring through drive-ins and underbaskets.
Lokesh Choudhary and Md Habeeb scored on the run in the second half even as the deep bench strength of Keystone led by Akash, Hitesh and Tanmay Chandekar did not feel the heat with the loser scoring 23 against 29 by Keystone in the half.
