Hyderabad: Gaganjeet Bhullar relished being in the lead and did not relinquish the advantage he shared with Samarth Dwivedi after two rounds at the Season 2 AM Green IGPL Krishna Invitational 2026 Hyderabad, presented by Punjab Raptors GC.

On a day when others faltered under the pressure of the final round, Bhullar opened and closed his round with bogeys but holed seven birdies in between to card a five-under-par 65. He finished the tournament at 14-under-par 196, beating his nearest rivals, Karandeep Kochhar and C Muniyappa, by three strokes. Kochhar carded a six-under-par 64, while Muniyappa returned a 66. Both finished at 11-under-par.

Bhullar’s victory also helped Chennai Lions GC clinch the team title at 26-under-par, two shots ahead of Vizag Dolphins at 24-under-par. Punjab Raptors GC finished third at 23-under-par.

When the final round began, all eyes were on overnight co-leaders Bhullar and Dwivedi. Dwivedi had played fearless, aggressive golf in the first two rounds, carding consecutive rounds of 66 and 65 to establish himself among the leaders.

However, the final day proved difficult for Dwivedi. His troubles began early on the front nine as he struggled to find the rhythm that had served him well earlier in the week. He carded a three-over-par 37, with five bogeys against two birdies, before making the turn. Misfired tee shots and a cold putter compounded his problems.

Despite an under-par back nine of 34, the damage had already been done. He recorded an eagle on the 14th but dropped a shot on the 18th to finish with a 71. His final-round score saw him slip to a tie for sixth at eight-under-par overall.

As Dwivedi fell back, Bhullar capitalised with precision. Starting the day as a co-leader, the multiple-time champion showcased his experience with a strong performance. He negotiated the front nine in 34 strokes, recovering from a bogey on the first with birdies on the fifth, eighth and ninth to turn two-under-par.

On the back nine, he birdied the 12th and 14th before sealing the title with an eagle on the 17th. Despite a closing bogey, he emerged a comfortable winner.

Bhullar remained unfazed as the pressure intensified on the back nine, negotiating the challenging layout of the Hyderabad Golf Association course with confidence. His final-round 65 matched his opening-day score, capping a consistent week in which he carded rounds of 65, 66 and 65.

Behind Bhullar, Kochhar mounted the strongest challenge of the day, firing a six-under-par 64, the lowest round of the final day, to finish tied for second. He picked up two birdies on the front nine and another on the 10th before closing with three consecutive birdies. However, Bhullar had already established a decisive lead.

Muniyappa joined Kochhar at 11-under-par with a steady 66 to share second place.

Sachin Baisoya finished fourth at 10-under-par after carding a 65, while Manav Shah, who threatened the course record with a 61 on the second day, managed a 69 to finish fifth.

For Bhullar, the victory added another milestone to an already impressive career. His fifth AM Green IGPL title extended his lead over other players in the number of titles won on the tour. He also has 11 Asian Tour victories, the most by an Indian golfer.

Dwivedi, Tushar Pannu and Shaurya Binu finished tied for sixth, while Pukhraj Gill and Saarthak Chhibber shared ninth place. Veer Ganapathy endured a difficult day, carding a four-over-par 74 to slip to a tie for 15th at four-under-par overall.

With the title secured at the Season 2 AM Green IGPL Krishna Invitational 2026 Hyderabad, presented by Punjab Raptors GC, Bhullar strengthened his position at the top of the AM Green IGPL Merit List and became the first player to win multiple titles in 2026.
