Games, chats and fun with Chatterbox Chaitu

Hyderabad: RJ Chaitu is a name that Hyderabadi FM listeners are very familiar with. ‘Chatterbox Chaitu’, as he’s popularly known as among music enthusiasts in the city who are hooked on to Red FM, had been thinking of providing more entertainment to his listeners, apart from what he does on the FM radio.

And the lockdown — besides the love and encouragement he received from the audience — had provided him the right time and opportunity to Chaitu to start his own YouTube channel titled ‘Chatterbox Chaitu’.

The RJ didn’t want to start the channel with the same routine interviews. He wanted to come up with different and out-of-the-box ways to keep both his guests and audience entertained. “I always wanted to do something different and now due to Covid, there’s a big change in everybody’s life. When I was stay put at home last year, I used to browse for some interesting videos to watch in my free time. But, I noticed that there wasn’t a single proper show which has both games and interviews. This made me ponder and wonder what I can do to disrupt that space,” says the Chatterbox.

“So, I made sure that the show I started is full of fun games with the celebrities. I have divided the game show into four sections — one minute, 30 seconds, 20 seconds and 10 seconds — for each of the challenges, which creates curiosity in both audience and the celebs who are playing it,” shares Chaitu.

The first show on YouTube with Syed Sohel, Akhil Sarthak and Ariyana Glory was a big hit and within a week the video got one million views. “I thank my audience who made my first show a big hit. This boosted me with confidence and gave me more power to go forward. I wanted to give an entry into the web space with a different concept and I have successfully managed it,” says Chaitu, who wants to interview anchors Sreemukhi and Pradeep when he reaches one lakh subscribers.
