Hyderabad: Of late, Gandhi Bhavan has been turning into a venue for Congress leaders’ brawls, especially due to differences between loyalists and turncoat leaders.

On Monday, leaders from the Zaheerabad Congress unit entered into heated arguments and indulged in verbal abuse. A few leaders from the Zaheerabad Congress unit raised slogans against constituency in-charge and former Minister Chandrashekhar. He had joined the Congress from BRS before the Assembly elections in 2023.

A few leaders alleged that Chandrashekhar was giving priority to his followers in the allotment of different positions in the party. This flared up differences between loyalists and turncoat leaders. The issue, which was confined to the Zaheerabad constituency, reached Gandhi Bhavan, which turned into a venue for their arguments.

This comes close on the heels of the ruckus that prevailed during the Congress Hyderabad Parliament constituency meeting at Gandhi Bhavan last month.

Arguments broke out between senior leader Feroz Khan and another leader, Osman Ali Hajri, over sharing the stage with Ministers. Objecting to Feroz Khan’s demand, Osman Ali Hajri allegedly pushed him to the ground.

All this happened in front of Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd Azharuddin and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
