Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations unite Telugus in UK’s Luton

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations organised by the Luton Telugu Association have brought together Telugu families in the UK town, with more than 3,000 families participating this year. The celebrations aim to strengthen community bonds and connect Telugus living across the region

Hyderabad: Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations have brought together the Telugu community living in Luton, a historic town built in the sixth century on the banks of the River Lea in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.

The town, located about 50 km from London, has around 1,500 Telugu families living in different parts of the town. A few youngsters brought these families together for the first time in 2022 and formed the Luton Telugu Association (LTA) days before Ganesh Chaturthi. However, they could not organise Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations for the next two years.

The LTA core team regrouped and resumed organising the celebrations in 2025, drawing a great response from the Telugu community. Not only Telugu people living in Luton, but also Telugus from various parts of the UK have been coming to Luton to participate in the celebrations and meet people from their native places. According to the organisers, this year’s Ganesh celebrations have attracted more than 3,000 families so far.

Speaking to Telangana Today, S Sampath Reddy of Nalgonda said the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations had become a platform to connect all Telugus living in Luton. He said unity would help the people living there in many ways.

Madhusudhan Reddy, another core team member, said they were planning to organise more such activities in the future to keep the Telugu community connected.

He said they had invited Anegu Jaipal Reddy, a social media influencer and a native of Revanpally in Yadadri-Bhongir district, to make Saturday’s celebrations special.

Core team members Madhusudhan Reddy, Sai Gopi Kosuri, Vineeth Reddy Kusukuntla, Nishanth Reddy Palle, Sampath Reddy Singapuram, Mahesh Goud Palakuri, Venusai Sripathi, Narendra Kumar Peddi, Janakiram Reddy Bachu, Gelli Sai Kumar, Anil Kumar Karamshetty and Sarith Vennu, among others, were leading the activities.
