Ganesh Immersion: Officials inspect 19-km procession route in Hyderabad

A joint team of Hyderabad City Police, GHMC, HYDRAA, Roads and Buildings Department and other agencies inspected the 19-km Ganesh immersion route on Tuesday. Around 20,000 police personnel will be deployed, while CCTV cameras and specialised teams will monitor security.

Hyderabad: A joint high-level team of Hyderabad City Police, GHMC, HYDRAA, Road and Building, and other departments inspected the 19-km Ganesh immersion procession route on Tuesday to ensure safe, hassle-free movement for devotees and the public.

The route was inspected from Balapur through Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Charminar and MJ Market to Telugu Talli Flyover, with officials checking overhead clearances, height restrictions and road conditions.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said around 20,000 police personnel would be deployed across Hyderabad for security. The Command Control Centre would continuously monitor the procession route through CCTV cameras. QRTs, dog squads, anti-chain snatching teams and SHE Teams would also be deployed.

He said officials of various departments would remain at the TGICCC round-the-clock on immersion day for coordination. With rains continuing, organisers were advised to follow electrical and other safety precautions. Sajjanar appealed to devotees and organisers to cooperate with the police to ensure a peaceful immersion procession.

Hyderabad CP Sajjanar, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and Hyderabad District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala also visited the Balapur Ganesh idol and offered prayers.
