Hyderabad: An all-department route inspection was conducted on the Ganesh procession route from Balapur to Hussainsagar on Wednesday.
The inspection team included Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand, Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and others.
Speaking to the media, CV Anand advised Ganesh idol organisers to be cautious in view of electrocution-related deaths reported in the city. He said the police and concerned departments had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the processions in the coming days.
“On the final day, around 25,000 idols are likely to be immersed in Hussainsagar. Adequate cranes have been arranged around the lake to facilitate the immersion,” he said.
Hyderabad City Police are deploying 29,000 personnel for the procession bandobast, who will work in three shifts.
