Hyderabad: The Nampally police on Friday arrested a five-member gang of thieves involved in chain snatching and pickpocketing offences and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh from them.
The gang members were identified as Shaik Saddam Hussain, K Akash, K Karan, H Vishal and K Laxman, all residents of Nampally and Habeebnagar.
The gang is suspected to be involved in nearly 50 cases. Police said the suspects targeted people in crowded places and public transportation and fled with their jewelry.
