Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla police on Wednesday nabbed one person involved in several theft cases and five others who received stolen material from him. Police recovered Rs 4.8 lakh, three motorcycles and other material, all worth Rs 8 lakh from them.

The arrested persons were R Saidulu (20), held for theft, while Suresh, Pavan Kumar, Lavan Kumar, Shiva Kumar and Ravi were the receivers. Saidulu was involved in several burglaries and automobile thefts in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda and was arrested and jailed in a few cases earlier. According to the police, Saidulu, who earlier worked as a construction worker took to crime and targeted houses and parked bikes in secluded colonies. He gave the stolen material to his associates for disposal. They shared the money.


Saidulu was arrested near Shapur Nagar and based on his confession, the others were held, police said.
