Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for fulfilling his promise made to farmers by providing Rythu Bandhu amount. The government began the process of depositing the 8th phase of Rythu Bandhu amount in the bank accounts of farmers on Tuesday.
The Minister along with farmers and TRS activists celebrated the event by performing paalabishekam to the portrait of the Chief Minister at Gopalpur of Karimnagar constituency on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said that despite Covid pandemic, the State government continued with the implementation of all its schemes. Kalyanalaxmi, pensions, 24 hours free power supply, Rythu Bandhu and several other schemes were being implemented without any break, he said.
The Opposition parties had started a vicious campaign claiming that the State government will not provide assistance to farmers under Rythu Bandhu in the present season since the union government had refused to purchase paddy in Yasangi, he said, adding that Chandrashekhar Rao proved all of them wrong by depositing the Rythu Bandhu amount in the bank accounts of all the farmers.
Even agriculture department officials have also expressed diffidence over providing rythu bandhu to paddy farmers in the wake of the central government’s indifferent attitude, Chief Minister has issued orders not to give troubles to farmers.
Stating that farmers have permission to sow crops according to their wish in the Yasangi season, Minister advised that farmers, who have agreements with rice millers, could sow paddy since the state government would not establish paddy purchasing centers in the wake of the center’s decision. Other farmers have to face troubles if they sow paddy, he opined.
ZTPC Purumalla Lalitha, MPP Thiparthi Laxmaiah and others participated in the programme.
