Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said Pathala Nagesh, who was earlier arrested for similar offences in different parts of the State, was transporting the ganja with the help of his accomplices to Karthi Rathod at Zaheerabad when the SOT team caught them at LB Nagar.
“The gang purchased ganja at Rs 3,000 per kg from sellers in Visakhapatnam and was supplying it on the border districts of Telangana and Maharashtra,” Bhagwat said. A case under NDPS Act was booked by the Hayathnagar police and all the eight persons were produced before the court and remanded.
