Police seized Rs 1.25 crore worth ganja at Kothagudem on Monday.
Kothagudem: Police arrested three persons and seized ganja worth about Rs 1.25 crore at Brindavanam under the limits of Chunchupalli police station in Kothagudem on Monday.
Inspector of Police D Guruswamy told media persons that the seized ganja weighs about 626 kg and was concealed among coconut saplings in a truck.
The substance was seized during vehicle inspection and the arrested were identified as Shyam Sivaji Khale, Arvind Deelip Gule and Lakshman Thambe, all belonging to Bhoom taluq in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra State, he said.
Another accused in the case, Kunle of Pune in Maharashtra, was absconding. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the police that they purchased ganja from unknown persons in Malkangiri district of Odisha and were smuggling the substance to Pune.
