Khammam: Police seized ganja worth about Rs 1.42 crore and arrested two persons in Sathupalli on Thursday.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Vishnu S Warrier said the accused, Yogesh Limbaji Thorve and Irfan Sadar Pathan, both from Maharashtra were transporting dry ganja in a truck.
During the vehicle check, the police found cannabis weighing around 566 kg in the truck.
The CP said the accused, acting on the directions of an absconding ganja smuggler Ganesh Ubale, purchased ganja in forest areas of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
He said that a manhunt was launched to nab the absconding ganja smuggler. Special teams have been formed to trace out the roots of the ganja smuggling network, Warrier added.
