Ganja smugglers arrested by Godavarikhani two town police.
Peddapalli: Godavarikhani police busted a ganja smuggling gang and arrested four persons, from whom 96.7 kg of dry ganja worth Rs.48.38 lakh worth was seized.
Producing the accused before the media in a press conference at his office, Ramagundam Police Commissioner M Srinivas explained the modus operandi of the gang. Based on reliable information, Godavarikhani Two Town police conducted vehicle checking at 11A coal mine crossing and found two cars moving under suspicious circumstances. On checking vehicles, they found 96.7 kg of ganja in two cars. Besides seizing the vehicles, cops arrested four persons. They were Udayveer from Dadki of Uttar Pradesh, Raj Lodhi Sanju from Edalpur, Dolpur of Rajasthan, Keshav Khara (vehicle owner ) and Somantha Khora, duo from Bijapur of Odisha. Two others were absconding.
On questioning, they confessed to the crime and informed that ganja was being smuggled to Maharashtra from Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh through Manthani.
