Gautam Adani offers condolences as SVPIA suspends operations and rescue efforts underway

Ahmedabad: Air India’s London-bound Flight AI171, carrying 242 people, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) today. The tragedy has left the nation in shock and grief.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed profound sorrow on social media:
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy of Air India Flight 171. Our hearts go out to the families who have suffered an unimaginable loss,” He confirmed that the Adani Group is working closely with authorities and will provide full on-ground assistance to affected families.
SVPIA officials have temporarily halted all flight movements until further notice. Passengers are urged to check with their airlines before heading to the airport and Roads around the crash site remain locked down to clear way for rescue and emergency teams.
Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, who was in Vijayawada for NDA government anniversary events, immediately diverted to Ahmedabad upon learning of the crash.
