Hyderabad: The promo of the first single of Vijay Thalapathy-starrer “Beast” – ‘Halamathi Habibo’ (meaning, “I dreamed of my lover”), an Arabic Kuthu song which is a mix of Arabic music and Tamil folk beats, is already a humongous hit on the internet, piling up millions of views on YouTube in super-quick time.
And, what a way to promote a song. The enjoyable funny skit of the 6 minutes 19 seconds promo taking us on a comedy ride features music composer ‘Rockstar’ Anirudh Ravichander, director Nelson Dilipkumar, Sivakarthikeyan who has also written lyrics for the song, and a voice cameo by actor Vijay.
The Nelson-Anirudh-Sivakarthikeyan combination with joining Vijay on the phone at the end, is an absolute treat to watch. Anirudh at the voice recording studio explains during his conversation with Nelson that they would go not pan-India, but pan-world this time with an Arabic Kuthu song. The trend setting musician goes on to say that an Arabic song has been in his mind for long, but as no one agreed to keep such a song for their film, he would now compose it for “Beast”.
An astonished Nelson insists he just wants a Kuthu song that suits Vijay’s image. But, Anirudh then says he was ready with tunes for Arabic-Kuthu combination, and wants a lyricist who can write lines for such a song. Then, Nelson reaches out to Sivakarthikeyan.
This is when the song-writer also joins the fun. In the song mood, they all don Arabic attire and groove now to the foot-tapping tunes that are ready. And, now they talk with Vijay on the phone to let him know about the number, and audiences are just in awe of the actor’s voice which triggers goosebumps, and then starts the frenzy with expectations of the actor’s fans about the film actor growing. The laughter riot leaves us excited for the full song which is releasing on the Valentine’s Day, February 14.
“Beast”, touted to be an action drama, featuring Pooja Hegde as the female lead, is produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures and is scheduled to be released in April 2022. There is a strong buzz in the industry that it will release on April 14, although there is no official confirmation yet on the date.
