GGVVS Marks Five Years of Culture, Community & Celebration with Grand Dandiya–Garba Night
The Global Gujarati Vaishnav Vanik Samaj’s South and East Bharat Chapter celebrated its fifth Dandiya-Garba night at Bantia Gardens, Secunderabad, on October 10. The event featured musical performances, children’s programmes, cultural competitions and activities celebrating Gujarati traditions.

Secunderabad: An evening filled with colour, rhythm, tradition and togetherness marked the 5th Year Dandiya & Garba Night organised by the Global Gujarati Vaishnav Vanik Samaj (GGVVS), South & East Bharat Chapter, at Bantia Gardens, Secunderabad.
The celebration brought together children, youth, women and families, creating a vibrant platform to celebrate Gujarati traditions while strengthening community bonds. The evening featured energetic Garba and Dandiya, live musical performances by singers and a band from Mumbai, along with a wide range of creative competitions.

The little stars below seven years of age stole the show with a spectacular Garba performance, winning hearts with their energy, confidence and enthusiasm, beautifully reflecting how our traditions are being carried forward by the next generation.
The Aarti Thali Decoration competition received a massive response, with participants showcasing exceptional creativity, devotion and beautifully crafted traditional designs. The overwhelming participation reflected the community’s enthusiasm for preserving and celebrating our rich cultural traditions.
Adding a special cultural dimension was the Online Bhajan Competition for children, encouraging the younger generation to actively participate in and carry forward traditional values.
The evening also celebrated creativity and talent through competitions across different age groups, Garba and Dandiya performances, traditional attire and accessories, and pair and individual categories. The enthusiastic participation created a lively atmosphere and gave participants an opportunity to showcase their talent and individuality.
The event was powered by main sponsor Shah Decors, with the valuable support of Shri Rajeshbhai Shah, Vice-Chairman – Eastern & Southern India; co-sponsored by Shri Sudhirbhai Shah, GBDN Eastern & Southern India; and supported by Shri Vijaybhai Shah.

Event Details & Highlights
Date & Time: Saturday, October 10, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM sharp.
Venue: Bantia Gardens, Secunderabad, Hyderabad.
Music & Performance: Features authentic traditional Gujarati folk music alongside a popular live band from Mumbai and an energetic DJ setup.
Special Workshop: A 15-minute guided Garba session hosted by Tulsi Desai Ji to help participants learn traditional formations and new steps on the spot.
Hosting: Anchored by the experienced emcee Darshana Savla.
Dress Code: Strictly traditional festive attire only.
Competitions: Prizes will be awarded across multiple categories, including Best Pair Garba, Best Pair Dandiya, Best Player, Most Artistic Bindi, Best Designed Jacket and Most Decorated Dandiya.
