Hyderabad: The GHMC and Hydraa will collaborate on drawing up plans aimed at preventing flooding of areas at Ameerpet Metro and Maitrivanam.
On Thursday, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath conducted a joint survey and assessed the existing drainage infrastructure before implementing new measures.
The proposed plans will focus on improving stormwater drains and ensuring regular maintenance to mitigate the risk of future flooding.
Preliminary findings indicate that the issue arises as stormwater drains, originally 40 feet wide, narrow to 10 feet while crossing Ameerpet and SR Nagar main roads.
To address this, plans are being prepared for drain remodeling to widen the narrowed sections and prevent recurring flood issues.
