GHMC clears 5,641 metric tonnes of garbage in special sanitation drive

GHMC has removed 5,641 metric tonnes of garbage under a special sanitation drive conducted across 3,613 locations in all 300 wards of the city. The drive, which began on December 29, will continue till January 31

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) removed 5,641 metric tonnes of garbage till January 19 as part of an ongoing special sanitation drive, according to an official release on Monday.

An official release also stated that the GHMC conducted the drive in 3,613 areas, points, foot over bridges, flyovers, garbage vulnerable points and parks within the 300 GHMC wards. It resulted in the removal of 4,243 metric tonnes of solid waste and 1,398 construction waste, totalling 5,641 metric tonnes.


The special drive began on the December 29, 2025, and is scheduled to conclude on January 31.
