Hyderabad: GHMC officials removed 896 encroachments on Saturday as part of a drive against encroachments on footpaths and road margins, including 440 permanent and 456 temporary structures.

So far during the three special drives conducted from April 4 to 18 and April 25, a total of 2,337 encroachments have been removed by GHMC. Similar kinds of special drives for removal of encroachments will continue within GHMC limits.

The GHMC urged citizens and shopkeepers not to encroach onto footpaths or road margins, stating that such encroachments cause inconvenience to pedestrians and affect vehicular movement.
