GHMC Commissioner directs officials to initiate measures to prevent flooding in low-lying areas
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan visited flood-affected Santoshnagar in Hyderabad and directed officials to begin temporary relief measures and draft permanent plans to prevent flooding in low-lying areas. He was accompanied by Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain Mehraj during the inspection.

On Wednesday, the Commissioner visited Santoshnagar in the Charminar Zone, an area recently inundated due to heavy rainfall , along with Yakutpura MIM MLA Jaffar Hussain Mehraj.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnan said efforts should be made to pump out floodwater from affected low-lying areas. He also directed officials to prepare comprehensive plans for permanent flood mitigation in these vulnerable zones.
