Hyderabad: Cracking down on pet shops that were operating without required license in the city, the GHMC issued notices to 82 pet shops.

The pet shops should have mandatory registration under ‘Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ( Pet Shops)’ rules and they also obtain a certificate of registration from the State Animal Welfare Board (SAWB).

As per the norms, GHMC should not give licence to pet shops unless the establishment has obtained a certificate from the SAWB.
