Hyderabad: A dilapidated building in Shastripuram ward was demolished by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials here on Friday.
The wall of the G+1 building in Owaisi Hills was in a damaged condition due to the recent rains. “The building was posing a danger to people. The family members also understood the situation and did not object to civic body officials pulling it down,” said AIMIM’s Mohammed Mubin, corporator from Shastripuram ward.
The GHMC officials said that as the structure was located on a hill, it posed a threat to other buildings in case it collapsed. “There are two more buildings in the same locality which are structurally unfit and appropriate measures will be taken,” said an official.
